In March 2016, the Law Office of Donald Potter prevailed in a jury trial in a FEHA disability discrimination case. The case is entitled Rosi Godinez v. Alta-Dena Certified Dairy, Case No. CV 15-1652 RSWL. Ms. Godinez was a long-term Alta-Dena employee who was fired by Alta-Dena in 2013 after requesting accommodation for a disability. The jury rendered a unanimous verdict in Ms. Godinez’s favor as to all five claims which were: disability discrimination, failure to provide reasonable accommodation, failure to engage in the interactive process, failure to prevent discrimination, and wrongful termination in violation of public policy. The jury awarded Ms. Godinez $544,505.00 in damages. The Court subsequently awarded Ms. Godinez $557,150.00 attorney’s fees and $19,456.75 in expert fees to be paid by Alta-Dena Certified Dairy.
